Code of Conduct

Fairfield Sports is a volunteer organization dedicated to providing a positive team sports experience for the youths of our community. The goal of Fairfield Sports is to promote sportsmanship, teamwork, self-confidence, and physical fitness. We believe that participation in a competitive team sports program that emphasizes positive reinforcement can play an important role in the development of our children and provide lifelong memories.

Of all the life lessons that can be learned on the playing fields of youth, the one that will have the longest lasting effect is sportsmanship. Sportsmanship is more than learning how to win with grace. It is learning how to accept defeat with dignity. True sportsmanship is born from having respect for the efforts and accomplishments of others as well as yourself. To this end, Fairfield Sports has established the following guidelines for players, coaches and parents.

Code of Conduct:

  • Maintain self-control.
  • Set a good example for others to follow.
  • Do not use profanity, offensive language, or any inappropriate action.
  • Use of alcoholic beverages prior to or during sporting events is prohibited.
  • Use of tobacco products during sporting events is prohibited.
  • Do not raise your voice in anger and refrain from arguments.
  • Do not throw objects as a way of displaying anger or disappointment.
  • Do not verbally abuse officials, coaches, players or any other person in attendance.
  • Always remember that this is supposed to be fun. If it is not fun, something is wrong.
  • Play hard, play fair, and always respect the spirit as well as the letter of the rules.

Any person (parent, player, or coach) removed from a game for any reason by an umpire or a Fairfield Sports committee member, will be required to leave the fields immediately and serve a mandatory 1 game suspension.
